Chopicalqui Climb
Chopicalqui (6,345 m) - The Giant next to Huascarán
In the shadow of the imposing Huascarán, Chopicalqui rises as one of the most accessible yet challenging six-thousanders of the Cordillera Blanca. At 6,345 meters, it is the third highest peak in the range and a classic climb that combines technique, beauty, and stunning views. Its normal route along the northwest ridge offers sustained glacier climbing, with snow and ice slopes of up to 50 degrees, ideal for experienced mountaineers seeking a demanding six-thousander without the technical complexity of other giants. From the summit, the proximity to the Huascarán massif provides one of the most breathtaking panoramas of the Peruvian Andes.
