Huayhuash Circuit - 8 Days
Huayhuash Circuit (8 days) - The Most Spectacular Trek in the Peruvian Andes
The Huayhuash Circuit is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful treks in the world. Located in the central highlands of Peru, south of the Cordillera Blanca, this massif is home to 7 peaks that exceed 6,000 meters, including Yerupajá (6,634 m), the second highest mountain in the country, and the mythical Siula Grande (6,356 m), immortalized by Joe Simpson in "Touching the Void". This 8-day trek covers the most impressive landscapes of the mountain range, turquoise lagoons such as Carhuacocha and Jahuacocha, high mountain passes above 5,000 meters, and panoramic views of giants such as Rondoy, Jirishanca, Sarapo, and Trapecio. Each campsite is strategically located next to dreamlike lagoons, offering unforgettable sunsets and sunrises reflected in crystal clear waters.

FAQ
? What level of physical condition is required for this trek?
The Huayhuash Trek is demanding. During 8 days we will walk between 6 and 9 hours daily, reaching mountain passes of up to 5,070 m (Santa Rosa Pass). A good physical condition, previous experience in multi-day hikes and, ideally, having previously done high-altitude trekking is required. It is recommended to prepare with cardiovascular training and hikes with positive elevation gain several months before the trip. Good prior acclimatization in Huaraz or the Cordillera Blanca is essential to enjoy and successfully complete the trek.
? How is the accommodation and food situation during the hike?
The trek is in camping mode. Our team of muleteers and cooks accompanies us throughout the journey. They transport the collective equipment (kitchen and dining tents, stove, food) and get ahead to have the camp ready upon our arrival. The meals are complete, prepared at the moment, designed to replenish energy, with nutritious breakfasts, mountain lunches (usually box-lunch style), and hot dinners. Participants must bring their own personal tent (or shared) and a sleeping bag suitable for sub-zero temperatures.
