Laguna Paron Day Hike
Laguna Paron Day Hike
Laguna Paron is a brilliant blue lake surrounded by spectacular snow-capped peaks. The magnificent Artesonraju Mountain, also known as “Paramount Pictures Mountain” (5885m), lies directly on the lakeshore. It is one of the few lakes in Huascaran National Park that can be reached by car.
Itinerary
Day 1:Huaraz - Laguna Parón - Huaraz
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Huaraz and drive to the village of Caraz. Along the way, we'll pass lush green valleys, rivers, and snow-capped mountains. The final leg of the drive to Laguna Paron takes us through a spectacular canyon with 1000-meter-high granite walls. Once we reach the lake, we can hike along a trail that circles it and then continue on to another small but beautiful lake called Artesoncocha. FAQ
? How long do I need to acclimatize to the altitude before the hike?
The time required varies depending on the person. If you already have experience at altitude, your body may acclimatize more quickly. We recommend spending at least two days in Huaraz or doing simple activities in the surroundings.
? Can I swim in the lagoon?
Anyone who doesn't mind the icy water can take a quick dip in the lake. 🙂 It will undoubtedly be a unique experience and will look great for souvenir photos.
