Pisco West Climb 5,752 m

This snow-capped mountain is one of the most frequently visited by mountaineers and represents the first acclimatization goal in the Cordillera Blanca. It is possible to stay overnight and start from the Perú Refuge. It is known by the locals as Mataraju, it was renamed Pisco because on its first ascent the achievement of the summit was celebrated with the typical drink of Peru, Pisco. The Pisco snow-capped mountain is part of the mountain range called the Huandoy Massif, located in the central part of the Cordillera Blanca. There are two peaks of the mountains, divided by a drop that reaches 5580 m - Pisco Este (5,760 msnm) the highest, Pisco Oeste (5,752 msnm). This is one of the most popular peaks in the entire range.

? What weight should I carry in my backpack during the circuit?

During the walking days, you will carry a light backpack with your personal equipment necessary for the day (warm clothing, camera, sunscreen, water and snacks). The approximate weight will be 5 to 7 kg. The rest of the camping equipment, tents, kitchen and food will be transported by our team of muleteers and donkeys, who will accompany us throughout the route.

? Can I leave my additional belongings and valuables in Huaraz while I do the circuit?

Yes, absolutely. We offer a secure storage service at our Huaraz office for all your belongings that you do not need during the trek. You can leave additional suitcases, electronic devices, important documents and other valuables with complete peace of mind while you enjoy the mountain. We recommend carrying only the essentials during the circuit.
