Huascarán South Climb (6,768 m) - The Highest Peak in Peru

Huascarán South is the roof of Peru and the ultimate dream of every mountaineer who visits the Cordillera Blanca. At 6,768 meters above sea level, this iconic mountain represents the greatest challenge in the tropical Andes. The expedition requires overcoming nearly 4,000 meters of elevation gain from the last village to the summit, combining long days of glacier climbing, technical high-altitude skills, and impeccable acclimatization. The normal route via the northwest face offers a demanding climb but is accessible for experienced mountaineers, with snow and ice slopes that test both physical and mental endurance.
