Nevado Urus is a mountain located between the Ishinca and Akillpo valleys in the Cordillera Blanca of the Andes of Ancash, Peru, with a maximum altitude of 5495 m s.n.m. The Urus mountain has 3 peaks - Urus East Urus Central Urus West
Itinerary
Day 1:Huaraz – Collón – Campo base de Urus (4350m/14,268ft)
After breakfast at the hotel, at 07:00 am our team will pick you up for the Urus climb, we will head north of the city of Huaraz to Paltay, from there we will drive to Collón (3670m/12,037ft) it will take 1 hour and a half to reach Collón, where our burros and burro driver will be waiting to transport our logistics from Collón to Base Camp it will take 5 to 6 hours of hiking around 3 hours hiking we will find the Parque Nacional de Huascaran control, where we will register and also there we will enjoy lunch in the open air after lunch we will continue to Base Camp. We will check our climbing equipment for the next day Base Camp 4350m/14,268ft). Meals included - lunch, tea time and dinner
Day 2:Base Camp – Urus Summit (5497m / 18030ft) – Base Camp
We will start hiking around 4:00 am after breakfast, after reaching the glacier after 2 hours of ascent, we will begin ascending on the glacier for approximately 3 hours to reach the summit (5497m), where we will enjoy the beautiful view and the impressive mountain chains like Tocllaraju, Akilpo, Copa, Ranrapalca, Ishinca etc. After a few minutes we will begin descending for approximately 3 hours until the Base Camp, arriving at the Base Camp around 3:00 pm, Base Camp at 4350m. Meals included - breakfast, lunch to take and dinner
Day 3:Base Camp – Collón – Huaraz
This day we will return to Huaraz after breakfast around 8:00 am, we will descend along the same hiking trail before reaching the Parque Nacional de Huascaran control we will appreciate the last view of the mountains of the Ishinca valley after registering at PNH and continuing inside the quenual forests there we will appreciate birds of different colors on our way back, it will take 3 hours and a half to Collón, where our private Van will be waiting for the transfer to Huaraz. And then transfer to their hotel, arriving in Huaraz around 2:00 pm Meals included - breakfast, lunch to take, tea and dinner
