FAQ

? What level of experience do I need to join this expedition?

Basic mountaineering experience is required. You should have used crampons and handled an ice axe on snow or ice slopes before (it is not for absolute beginners). The program is progressive - the first ascents of Urus and Ishinca will serve as acclimatization and technical practice, preparing you for the more demanding Tocllaraju. A good physical condition and endurance for journeys of up to 12 hours are essential.

? What is the best time of year to do this expedition?

The ideal season for climbing in the Cordillera Blanca is from May to September. During these months, weather conditions are more stable, with sunny days and cold nights, and less precipitation. It is the " Andean dry season" period, which offers the best windows of good weather to reach the summits.

? What type of technical equipment should I bring? Can I rent anything in Huaraz?

You will need mountaineering equipment such as double boots for 6,000 m, crampons, technical ice axe, harness, helmet, and camping equipment (sleeping bag for sub-zero temperatures). We offer equipment rental in Huaraz, check the complete list when booking.
